History
                                                                                                        The Xoloitzcuintli is one of the oldest and most rare breeds which came from Mexico. The name comes from Itzcuintli, the Aztec word for dog, joined with Xolotl which was an Aztec Indian god. In many Central American and Mexican villiages, Xolos are thought to be spiritual and have healing powers.

                                                                                                        Color and Coat
                                                                                                        The Xolo has two coat options, hairless or coated. Hairless can have a small patch of fur on their head, their skin is smooth and tough. Coated Xolos have a short and close coat.                                                                                                         The Xoloitzcuintli is one of the most ancient dog breeds, but was only accepted into the AKC in 2011. There are three size varieties - toy, miniature and standard. Xolos can be hairless or coated.
